Speakers: Jan Decorte, Partner, and Antoine Druetz, Partner, at Koan Law Firm

Subject: GDPR applied to the non-profit sector: How to be compliant by May 2018?

On 25 May 2018, the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (hereafter: “GDPR”) will come into effect, followed by the expected “e-Privacy Regulation”.

The countdown is on and your organisation/interest group has now less than a year left to assess the (non-)compliance of the way personal data is being processed and to take and implement the measures, policies and any other action to ensure an adequate protection of the personal data in full compliance with the strict requirements of the GDPR. With their expertise in data protection law and their in-depth knowledge of the non-profit sector, the speakers will offer a clear overview of the impact of the GDPR whilst taking into account the specificities of the non-profit sector. They will first introduce data protection key concepts and the main aspects of the GDPR. The speakers will then elaborate on the specific impacts of the GDPR on your organisation/interest group and the necessary steps to be undertaken in order to make this constraining and binding legal framework a management and marketing opportunity for your organisation/interest group.

There will be room for questions / answers raised by the audience.

This session will be in English, questions can be asked in English, French and Dutch.
